I think all 80s cartoons were drawn by 1 Korean artist who was basically locked in a basement and worked around the clock. It would certainly explain a lot.

Ian - "The tomorrow people" - I forgot all about that one - that was special and scary at the same time. Unlike "Gentle-Ben", which is another I've just remembered, that was just a bit odd!

Bev - in my mind there was something remarkably similar about Mysterious Cities of Gold and Ulysses - perhaps it was the animation and dubbing?

Loved both of the following when I was a nipper:

Dogtanian and the three muskahounds
Mysterious Cities of Gold

Class in a glass, on toast.

Interesting list. I'm afraid I can't come up with a top 5, only a top 10 - we must have had a better quality of kids programmes in the 70's ;-)

1. The Double Deckers
2. Casey Jones
3. Fireball XL5
4. Skippy
5. Bill & Ben
6. The Tomorrow People
7. Marine Boy
8. Cracker Jack
9. The Herbs
10. The Clangers

Most of the theme tunes can be found at http://www.televisiontunes.com/
